Heh, all of my machines have been named after MK characters. My first Dell Inpsiron, which I ended up selling was "Baraka". My Dell Inspiron E1505, which I still use for DVDs, hooking up to my HDTV, and shared with Lindsey is "CYRAX". My newest netbook, Dell's Inspiron mini 10v is "SEKTOR".

I don't know whats more odd. The fact that I named my last three machines after MK characters, or that I'm on my third Dell Inspiron laptop.

Well, there's always the option of consideration. I've noticed from the few apps I have used on there, that they tend to have a "Mark people you want to bother" option. I can't really stomach facebook long enough to know how universal it is though. Courtesy could go a long way though.

I can understand that. On the other hand, there really should be an option for people to just switch off all notifications from all apps. I don't plan on joining any games to get any "rewards", and I'd rather not have it cluttering my wall. I'm sure others feel the same way.

You have to look at the flip side -- many of these apps have rewards or activities that a player can only accomplish by responding to another person's wall post. As long as the games have these built in "annoyances", people will continue to post silly little updates about flowers, fish, mob hits, etc.

BTW, despite my promise to post double my normal amount I still haven't posted nearly half of what I could. I play the damn games and I asmit that I get annoyed with them at times ;-)

Even worse than a simple cardinal sin, I find plagiarism the highest form of wrong. If you are going to do work and claim it as your own, the least you can do is say "these are my sources". If you don't/can't muster up the courage to point out where you blatantly ripped off of, then you may as well call it day for writing altogether.

A great example of how it could work is the various GPL licenses. Credit where credit due. The fact that she seems to still be eligible -for anything besides a lawsuit- is beyond sinning, it's an abomination against the craft of writing in totality.

I go back and blame another 'genius writer' for a similar snow job. Just because someone actually got away with it fast enough doesn't justify doing it at all. http://aydee.wordpress.com/2006/12/17/eragon/

Given that there are people in that same thread who are relaying similar experiences to what Sohmer is going through, it wouldn't surprise me if what he stated is exactly what happened.

Palm devices used to be the big dogs of PDAs. PalmOS was quick, simple, and worked VERY well as a dedicated PDA OS. I've had three Palm PDAs: a Palm IIIe, a Handspring Visor, and a HandSpring Visor Pro. (Handspring was founded by Palm's founders, and Palm bought them sometime in 2005 or thereabouts.) However, as time went on, Palm stagnated and never released needed updates to PalmOS. They were eventually overtaken by Windows Mobile, Blackberry, and Symbian.

Then again, while I had hoped Palm would turn things around, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. Back in 2007 or so, we had a couple of users who absolutely INSISTED they be issued Palm Treos at work. Those things were the biggest pieces of junk I'd ever seen. The number of times we had to replace their devices due to warranty exchanges was unreal. After about a year or so of that, those two staunch Palm users very happily migrated to Blackberries.

Palm used to be a great company. How the mighty have fallen...

I wasn't aware of the problems. Not that I'd go to sprint (though their ads have been interesting lately) but, I guess I never got into the whole palm thing.
